3. Excavation

We carefully excavate the site of your driveway to an accurate and correct depth.

4. Lining the base

original?tenant=vbu-digital

A thick geotextile membrane is laid on the soil base to prevent fine particle migration.

5. Drainage

Drainage channels are concreted into place where needed. The driveway water will then run off and in to a soak away.

Storm management crates are now used instead of rubble. This is a new building regulation.

6. The sub base

Six inches of MOT type 1 (hardcore) material is laid, compacted using a

Vibrating roller then levelled.

7. Edge restraints

The edge restraint is laid on a sturdy concrete foundation around the perimeter.

8. Aggregate base

original?tenant=vbu-digital

A 50mm/2 inch layer of flooring sand is laid, compacted and then levelled to create a perfect block laying surface.

9. Laying your drive

original?tenant=vbu-digital

The driveway blocks are carefully laid and aligned to your chosen pattern.

10. Cuts

Next we measure and cut the final blocks to size and fill the joints.

11. Finishing:

The blocks are compacted and a final brush in of the joints using 'Dry Kiln Sand'. This is then compacted once again using a vibrating whacker plate that is fitted with a rubber mat to prevent block chipping.

This completes your new driveway.
